This is the central element of the system, providing management and administration for the entire installation. Only one unit is required when operating in single mode. The system can be configured in a Primary/Secondary server mode; in this configuration, if one server fails, operation is automatically redirected to the backup (second) server. The server software can also be installed on local virtual servers owned by the customer, subject to consultation with ZPT Vigantice spol. s r.o.

Daisy Chain Topology (Serial Connection):
It is simple and highly efficient in terms of wiring. Devices are connected sequentially, ensuring a clear network structure. Major advantages include low cabling and installation costs, combined with easy-to-understand wiring. This topology is ideal for smaller or segmented networks (such as individual hospital wards). It allows for rapid deployment without complex configuration and delivers reliable operation when properly designed. Cable routing is highly organized, and the performance is fully sufficient for MDC V04 IP applications. Due to its simplicity, it offers highly practical deployment.
Star Topology
This topology is widely used, especially in modern computer networks. All devices connect to a central element, typically a switch or a router. As a result, the network is well-organized and clearly structured. Key benefits include easy management and maintenance. A failure of a single device usually does not affect the rest of the network, and expanding the network is technically straightforward. Disadvantages include higher cable consumption, and the entire system depends on the central element; its failure can lead to a complete network outage. Initial procurement costs may also be higher.
Hybrid Star-Serial Topology
This configuration combines the advantages of both approaches. It is most frequently used in larger or complex network infrastructures. Central elements can be configured in a star layout, while smaller network segments are connected in a daisy chain. Such a solution increases network design flexibility and allows for efficient cabling savings in specific sections. At the same time, it maintains clarity and easy management of the main nodes. The network can be expanded gradually without major modifications. The hybrid topology adapts better to specific site requirements, making it highly practical for real-world deployment.
Expansion:
Analog VoIP gateway IP – AVB IP (110810) – ensures the interconnection of the system with public telephone networks.
GSM gateway SMS IP Acrios – GSM SMS IP (110852) ensures the interconnection of the MDC V04 IP system with the GSM network.
Converter for fire alarm IP – KEPS IP (110580) – provides interfacing between the Fire Alarm System (FAS) and the MediCall system.
Audio program module IP – MAP IP (110520) – serves as a source for entertainment programming (2 FM channels) distributed into the system.
