The Wireless staff unit IP consists of a base station and a handset.
The base station provides core communication with the wireless handset, manages LAN communication via a router or switch, and enables telephone calls through the PSTN (public switched telephone network). The base station’s range is limited to 50 m within buildings; activating Eco Mode further reduces this range. Power is supplied from the MediCall system backbone via a power stabilizer included in the set. The handset is the receiving device that establishes a voice connection with the base station. A charger is included with the handset. The Wireless staff unit IP is a standard portable telephone connected to the system through the base station. It is suitable for staff rooms or any workstation equipped with the Staff terminal IP. This unit allows staff to move freely within the base station’s range while maintaining immediate availability for care and assistance. The range of the Gigaset base station can be extended using the Repeater for BSJ IP (110601) to cover areas where reception was previously unavailable. All handset functions remain fully available within this extended coverage area, identical to the base station operation.
